Playing as Jadra:
Jadra believes strongly in justice. Those that hurt others will receive a fitting and just punishment. While some confuse justice for vengeance, Jadra has thus far managed to avoid that trap. However she has a tendency to not think things through, and rush in to solve problems before analyzing the situation.

Backstory:
Born in the elven port city of Wainryn, Jadra spent much of her childhood on her grandfather’s knee. Tales of adventure filled her ears and her mind, while she imagined herself in them wielding her grandfather’s blade: Elyldayl. The blade was gifted to her grandfather when he thwarted the assassination of then ruler Thaeolyn, with the family’s crest etched into the blade just above the pommel.
With the tales of her grandfather’s adventures in her mind, she would fashion a set of armor to wear as she played. While it wouldn’t so much as slow an arrow, in most other respects it was an admirable duplication for a child. The armor restricted her mobility and agility in the same fashion as real armor, while it served as adequate protection for her imaginary battles. With the joy and wonder of a child, she would chase after goblins and dragons that only she could see down the streets of Wainryn.
When she turned ninety, young but not unusually so for an elf, she joined the City Watch as a recruit and began her training. Almost immediately her instructors noted how quickly she adapted to the weight and more limited mobility of armor, her childhood props having unexpected benefits. Also noted was the ease with which she took to the training ring and archery range. While all of the elven recruits knew how to shoot a bow, Jadra took to the martial training with surprising ease.
Ten years into her training, Jadra received news that ripped the world out from under her. Her grandfather had been killed by a gang of half-elves called the Brotherhood of the Severed Ear. Rage ripped through her, and she swore that the Brotherhood would be brought to justice. Throwing herself into her training, even more so than she had before, Jadra soon had a target that would lead her to the leader of the Brotherhood: a half-elf working in a butcher shop that was a Brotherhood front.
Whenever she wasn’t in training or on patrol, she was shadowing the half-elven man. To her frustration, she only ever saw him making deliveries or working as a butcher’s apprentice. Her obsession was noticed by her superiors, and she was reassigned before she could find anything leading her to a possible suspect as the head of the Brotherhood.
Her new assignment placed her at the docks, where she worked alongside sailors from all over the coastline both north and south. It is here that Jadra’s gift for numbers and engineering was cultivated. Several ship captains took a liking to the spunky elf, and posed engineering challenges for her to solve in her off time. One in particular, the scarred captain of a vessel named the Northstar, challenged her to design a crane superior to the older one currently used on the docks before he set out.
Though the crane was old, it was of a very efficient and robust design. The challenge was such that for the first time in two years she didn’t find her thoughts drifting to her grandfather. It was only when the Northstar’s captain came to the barracks to tell her that he was setting out, that she realized that she had been gone for two days without thinking about her grandfather.
With regret, she told the captain that she had failed his challenge. She had failed to design a better crane in the time frame he had given her. With a chuckle, the captain told her that it was ok; it had just been a small goal to push herself towards. If she hadn’t finished then she should keep working on it.
Soon after, Guard Captain Theoryll felt that she had had enough time to grieve for her grandfather and reassigned her back into the city itself. Though she had come to terms with her grandfather’s death, the fact was that the criminal organization which had killed him remained at large. After a week to reacclimatize to the streets which she had patrolled just ten years before, she tracked down the young half-elf she suspected to be a member of the Brotherhood.
She found him stumbling through the streets, seemingly in a drunken stupor were it not for the fact that there were no bars in the area. While normally she would be incapable of stealthily following him, his uncharacteristic lack of awareness enabled her to do so.
When he reached the butcher shop that he worked at, she walked around back to try to find a way inside. While she failed to enter the building, she was able to catch the conversation that was had between the half-elf and his employer. From the conversation, Jadra was able to determine that the elder was indeed the leader of the Brotherhood of the Severed Ear. In addition, the younger of the two had unintentionally killed a child earlier that night.
Upon hearing this, Jadra furiously redoubled her efforts to enter the building. Drawing the blade that had been gifted to her in her grandfather’s will, Jadra finally broke down the back door to find the elder half-elf dead on the floor, the younger half-elf missing, and oil and tinder ignited to burn down the building.
Running to the guard house to inform them of the fire, Jadra’s mind raced. Her entire purpose after her grandfather’s death was to bring his killers to justice, and now the leader of the Brotherhood had been killed by one of them that had grown a conscience. While the peons remained, from all of the reports that she had read on the Brotherhood they were a small gang. Beyond the one leader there really wasn’t much in the way of infrastructure. With the leader dead the group would soon crumble.
With that in mind, after informing the Guard of the burning butcher she quickly drafted a letter of resignation, and left the city to find the man that had killed the leader of the Brotherhood. To keep an eye on him if nothing else.
