Here is the iconic rogue: Dengina.
Playing as Dengina:
Dengina is a good man at heart, and filled with guilt for killing a child. He has dedicated himself to atoning for everything that he did for the Brotherhood, and does all that he can to help people. That having been said, his childhood in the Brotherhood still heavily influenced his outlook on life. He doesn't trust nobility or government officials, and only trusts clergy that are out and about with the common folk.

Backstory:
Born to a prostitute, the man that later in life would be named Dengina never learned who his father was. When he was 7, he got into an altercation with one of the brothel’s customers that was being unnecessarily rough with his mother. Though both survived, the customer was a collector of the Brotherhood of the Severed Ear gang.
Upon hearing that one of his collectors was beaten to a pulp by a child, the leader of the gang sent several enforcers to “recruit” the child. Though the recruitment was successful, two enforcers returned with broken arms and one returned with his Achilles tendon severed when Dengina bit his ankle through the leather boot. The gang leader, an older half-elf named Wyllani the Butcher, rather than being infuriated was amused and impressed.
Wyllani took Dengina under his wing, teaching him how to properly apply his strength and where on the body to do the most damage using pig carcasses as stand ins. In between lessons with Wyllani, Dengina was sent with various Brotherhood members to collect protection payments or other monies owed.
For years it continued in this fashion. Dengina would be taught where to strike in between various enforcement missions. When Dengina was 18, he started going on assignments to provide “encouragement” to various individuals that had refused to pay for protection.
Then when he was 26, he was sent to collect protection money from a retired city guard. Dengina arrived at the retired guard’s home knowing that tonight would be different than the dozens of other collection jobs that he had been on. The target had served in the guard, and wouldn’t fold so easily. Dengina couldn’t have known how right he was.
As Dengina had predicted, the former town guard refused to pay. As a result, a fight broke out. While the guard was skilled, he had lost much of his strength, agility, and stamina. Dengina on the other hand was in his prime and refused to fight fair. The former guard’s living room was filled with items that Dengina utilized to his advantage: pushing a footrest into the guard’s shins, using the curtains to tangle up the guard’s blade, trapping the guard’s shield between a door and a wall.
Finally, the former guard was on his back as Dengina drew his sword back to end the stubborn old man. A quick thrust, and the man was dead. So was the grandson that had tried to shield his grandfather.
It took several moments before Dengina realized what had happened. The former guard didn’t live alone, and the young child had been drawn by the sounds of the struggle. Upon seeing his grandfather about to be killed, the child had bravely tried to save his grandfather’s life.
A growing horror filled Dengina as he realized what he had done. Though a criminal and an enforcer that had stolen and beaten countless people, he had not killed until this point and his first kill was a child. Dazed, Dengina unknowingly took the former guard’s shield with him as he returned to Wyllani.
The older half-elf was in his butcher’s shop in front of a bound halfling gang member that had tried to escape the city. When Dengina told him what had happened, Wyllani brushed the death of both old man and child off as one would upon learning of a fly’s death.
Something within Dengina snapped. Blindly fumbling at one of the counters while staring at his former mentor, Dengina’s fingers finally closed around the handle to a cleaver. Walking up to the older man who was facing the halfling, Dengina raised the cleaver and brought it down upon the back of Wyllani’s skull.
Eyes crossing, the man collapsed like a puppet with its strings cut. Dengina entered the back room, collecting oil, pitch, anything that would burn. Pausing only to remove the cleaver from Wyllani’s skull and free the halfling, Dengina set the building ablaze.
The halfling and Dengina both fled the city, with the Brotherhood of the Severed Ear thinking that both had died along with Wyllani.
